I don't like where it comes from, I don't like who's funding it or the politics behind it, and I don't think Linux needs it to succeed. There is very little we could do with Mono that we can't do without it, and it's origins give the whole project a bit of a bad taste. There once was a day when the lack of something like C#/.Net on Linux was something we could cite as a strength.

What's wrong with Mono? I may not use many programs written in it, but it seems like a good idea and project.
If F-Spot (which is written in C#, so I assume uses mono) is any indicator, it can be put to really good use.
